About me

Hi there, and welcome! I am Victoria M. Sorenson, a debut author, long-time poet, and vintage book collector. My specialty is forging worlds full of magic and mystery in the young adult genre. When not writing enchanting plot scenes or poetry, I am spending time with my three daughters and my fat cat, Chili. My day-to-day is filled with fun and chaos, and I absolutely revel in its pandemonium. When you begin to let yourself experience all that life has to offer, your writing and imagination will flourish.

My debut novel, The Sacred Vine, was released on December 6th, 2024, and is currently available on Amazon, Kindle Unlimited, Barnes and Noble, and other major retailers. This captivating novel explores themes of grief, loss, adventure, friendship, growth, and courage, weaving a tale of magic and wonder.

Author Insights

What inspired you to start writing?

I've always been drawn to the lore of storytelling; the mere idea that I can create entire worlds is mindblowing. At 27, I decided to give my dreams a go, and now here I am, finally, 31, a published author. 

Do you have any writing rituals?

Oh absolutely! I turn on my twinkling tree lights at my desk to set the ambiance, and I read a few poems from my vintage poetry collection to get myself in the right mindset and let my creativity flow.

What do you hope readers take away from The Sacred Vine?

I struggled a lot in my teen years. It's hard to maintain friendships at that age when everyone is still finding out who they are and their sense of self. My hope is that my readers feel a connection to my characters and a cozy feeling of home with their new-found family. 

Can you share a fun fact about yourself?

I am fascinated by different cultures, and I would one day love to have the ability to travel, experience new places around the world, and make new friends. I watch a lot of anime, and my favorite character of all time is Naruto Uzumaki. BELIEVE IT! And I can't forget my K-dramas and K-pop music; those hold a special place in my heart, too.
